I have the Sims3 and ever since i updated to lion it freezes exactly when i close a room or make a coupple of pools. it worked perfectly on snow leapord no complaints there. anyone know what to do i even bought a new game same problem. i realy want to play 😟

A lot of people had the same problem after updating to Lion, and EA came out with an update. After the update, only Mac users with NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards are unable to play. So if you have the Nvidia graphics card, you'll have to wait for an update from EA or Apple, unfortunately.

Cherry is completely right, I spoke to a representative from Apple earlier today since I had the same problem. She said the reason for the crashing and freezing of Sims 3 is because EA, along with others, haven't yet created the patches needed to increase stability with Lion. Since Lion is such a new program, other companies now have to play catch up to get their produts to work alonside Lion so it looks like it'll be a little bit of a wait but for a lot of programs and software, patches are already coming through so keep checking your updates cuz I soooo can't wait to finally get passed purchasing the house on the game hahaha. I haven't even seen the inside.
I have lion as of last night and my game freezes. so does that mean we just have to sit and wait for an update for the game to play? i have an NVIDIA graphics card so do they just have to update the game for it?
Yes, we are all waiting for an update, but no one seems to know exactly where the update is coming from. It could potentially come from EA, Apple, or Nvidia, although a customer support rep from Nvidia said that Nvidia doesn't release updates for Mac users, only Apple does that. OMG !!!! I'm not alone!!! I tried thousand times reintall sims 3 and SP. And it keeps freezing, making me boot my mac pro. After that my disk utility found a damage part while verify my HD. I ance again, had to use the recovery Lion system. After that, I verifeid, and it was ok. So, I tried again reintall the Sims 3 EP and SP. And the problem of freezing is still there.

Unfortunately, there is no solution at the moment. We just have to wait for the patches to come through. I'm not sure though if it's EA or Apple trying to generate the correct working pathes.
