Slideshow with Preview - unable to loop slideshow

Hi folks,

In Leopard/Snow Leopard I used the slideshow feature with the 'preview application' on a daily basis to make slideshows of images. The app automatically looped the slideshow once it had cycled through all images, however these feature appears to be missing from the Lion version of Preview. It seems redundent to remove this feature affectively making a new version of the app inferior to the old one?

Also, the older version had an option to play images at actual size, or stretched to screen.. whereas Lion appears to play images stretched by default. Is it possible to alter this?

Many thanks.

Hi and welcome!

Annoying, isn't it? I use Preview app all the time for this, any workaround is either unsatisfactory, (JustLooking doesn't seem to like multiple folders, ditto QuickLook); or time consuming, (importing - and therefore duplicating - into iPhoto).

Apple keep doing this, though. A quick search will throw up previous problems with Preview App after an OS change, apparently later resolved through an update. Whether Apple will do likewise with Lion we are, of course, forbidden from speculating 😝 , that's not to say we can't hope, eh?

I'm not holding my breath, on the Lion page Preview is lauded solely as a PDF viewer, er - with a continuous scroll! Go figure...

In the meantime, have fun!

Adrian
