Lion is not support indexing file on NTFS Volume ?
i search for file on NTFS Volume but not find any result
As Mac OS X can't write to NTFS drives, it won't create Spotlight indexes on them.
(59715)
but in the previous system OSX 10.6 it does Spotlight indexes for NTFS
so why OSX 10.7 it doesn't support it
Using a third party application like Paragon NTFS or 3G-NTFS Lion can have write support to NTFS drives, exactly as Snow Leopard. The problem is that the search functionality to external NTFS drives is completely broken. I cannot find anything, even without indexing enabled.
I am having the same issue. Its ridiculous how many things go wrong with the Lion update.
I've got exactly such this problem! Any help?!
Same issue Did anyone find a solution? Have tried resetting the index and the various terminal commands that have been suggested online. Nothing works.
sorry i did not find any solution for this problem and i am using OS 10.6.8 now.
I've tried a few differnt terminal commands posted in various places, but THIS one worked for me (Mac Mini 2013, Paragon NTFS driver v9.5, External Seagate NTFS drive):
Go to Applications - Utilities - Terminal
Type in:
/usr/bin/mdutil -i on /Volumes/NTFS_DRIVE
(Enter)
/usr/bin/mdimport /Volumes/NTFS_DRIVE
(Enter)
Where NTFS_DRIVE is the name of your NTFS external drive. Put quotes before and after the drive name if your drive name has spaces in it.
