this appears to be a common question, but nothing about lion that i saw, so i am hoping perhaps there is new functionality. is there a method to access a unc path from the command line, i.e. ls -ld \\server\share\path\file? I have a series of network pc's running windows in a domain, i would like access to a file or files from each one of them without having to mount/umount the share to do so.

I am new on mac but I had the same problem.
Try cmd + K and put this smb://(PC NAME or IP)/(SHARED FOLDER)
Or Finder/Go/Connect to Server.

Thanks for the Reply Christophe, however i am looking for a method of accessing the network share without having to mount it. i.e.
ls -l \\server\share\path\file
vs having to mount the share and access the information, then unmount it
