View thumbnails in Preview App (Lion ) on right side

Is there a way to change the Preview App in Lion, which is version 5.5, to allow viewing the thumbnails on the right side of the document?

For some reason, Preview in Lion now shows the Thumbnails on the left side of the document. I want it back the way it was in Snow Leopard, with the thumbnails on the right side of the document. I don't see a selection in preference allowing this.

Any suggestions?

Quite agree especially if you need to combine PDF's into one by dragging from the Finder window. Unfortunately for a long time Apple has been gradually reducing the options available to users in order to make tweaks to the system and preferences etc but it is getting far too much.

Apple do not read these boards so please let them know your opinion at

I second the request for the thumbnail pane on the right, as it has always been (for a reason). Thumbnail pane on the left is like keeping a document with your crossed arms.

The Mac's Finder itselft keeps the most used items on the right, because that's the easier place where to reach for them (if you are, like most of us, right handed). I hope modern Mac developers are aware of the the way the Mac work.
