So I'm using Lion since yesterday and there's something that annoys the **** out of me.
Did Apple change the sensivity setting of the trackpad?
I am so used to Snow Leopard that i simply know how to tip on the trackpad so that it clicks. With Lion, this changed, now i have to tip two or three times on it until it finally clicks, selects or whatever.
Anybody else encouter that "problem"?
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7)
Check in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > Trackpad options... button > Check that the Double-Click speed isn't set to fast.

Only had 2 more to the max but i think it helped...or maybe i'm just thinking it did 😉

Max isn't the direction you want to go though. Set it for a much slower speed that gives you more time between taps.

I 2nd Mattair's post. & the double-click speed's got nothing to do with it. The tapping sensitivity has gone to crap. Also, scrolling background windows has become very slow & jerky.
Anybody got a fix?

I am using Magic Trackpad on an Imac. Same problem. Trackpad almost unuseable. I find myself reaching for a mouse in desperation. No useful suggestions in this discussion yet. Clearly there has been a significant change since Snow Leopard - something to do with the new gestures?. Any useful suggestions?

No, you're not the only one, I had that feeling since I've upgraded, today I decided to google this and I found quite some posts of people with the same problem... I used to barely touch the trackpad or magic trackpad before and now I end up actually clicking to make sure my action is taken... I hope someone at apple reads this and fix it somewhen soon.
frontrow gone and this trackpad thing makes me really regret having upgraded...
I dialed down all the options slightly and it works great for me now. Almost just like Snow Leopard. I used to hate it before I reset my settings.
I've definitely been having to physically click the button instead of tapping because I kept missing. I thought it was in my head at first but you guys/gals have confirmed it.
DennisaO, what are your settings now? I turned double-click speed all the way down. We'll see if it helps.
DoubleClick is slightly less than 50%, scrolling speed as well. Mouse Control movement, one click before long and maximum speed just below half way. Try that, see if you like it
any news on this issue?
I have a week old MBA. and i would say that singe taps on the trackpad dont work 5% of the time
