Printing from iPad is always borderless

I have setup Airport Extreme so that I can print from my iPad 1 and 2. However when I send anything to be printed, it is always printed in borderless format which ends up cutting off some of the image, picture or text, that is sent to the printer, a HP Envy 100 410a. Is there some setting somewhere that will let me change margins or scaling for stuff sent from the iPads?

iPad, operating system is 4.3.5 on both

Stephen-

In HP iPrint Photo, you can manipulate the image with two fingers. You can spread fingers apart or together to change size, and twist to rotate the image.

Safari has a little square icon with a right-turn arrow just to the left of the URL window. That brings up a menu that includes Print. This icon is common to Apps that are capable of printing. I think the Mail App just has a left-turn arrow with no square.

I'm not familiar with what you mean by add rep button.

Thanks Fred,

I got the HP iPrint app, it changes the paper size ok for a limited number of sizes, and it gives a custom size which I amn yet to fully work out. It doesn't however seem to have anything to manipulate the picture size which I presume you have to do in yet another app before trying to print it hey 🙂

Also I was wondering how do I get pages to print from safari? There doesn't appear to be any little send to button in safari. I tried copying and the pasting into Documents, but it won't copy the whole page in one go, and the pasted info has formatting stripped out. Any clues?

I tried for the last hour to find the add rep button so I could click that for you but it appears to be hiding from me at least. Do you know where or how I deal with that?

Thanks again.

Stephen.

Hi Fred;

Yep, thanks, dopey me forgot all about the two finger stretch thing hey, never even occurred to me to try it. I had a look and, your right, there is indeed a lttle turn right arrow to the left of the URL window. Why I didn't see it before is beyond me, I'm going to blame the cold weather over here in Australia for it hey 🙂

The add rep, it might be called something different on here, I think it is add rep on the HP site. but whatever it's called here that lets me mark the answer as correct so that you get the 10 points that comes with a correct answer. I've searched the tutorials and FAQ's, they tell you all about getting points, but they don't say anywhere that I've been able to find, how to give them.

Steve-

It appears that printing formats are decided by the App which is doing the printing, so it isn't entirely AirPrint's fault!

Consider using one of the printing Apps such as Print n Share. In addition to being able to print to non-AirPrint printers, it offers additional capabilities such as changing paper size and the ability to rotate and change image size using two fingers.

Also try the free iPad App, HP iPrint Photo.
