Feb 3, 2012 3:00 PM in response to wightwulfby hibeepaul,Further to my original earlier post, whilst I was getting the stuttering and green screen problem with both my macbook air and my imac it was only presenting itself when I was connected to one particular user. With others facetime worked fine. After further investigation it appeared that the other user's wireless was behaving erratically at times (speeds jumping about all over the place). The use of an ethernet cable at their end seems to have solved the problem, suggesting that in my case the issue was with the sender and not with my computer as first thought. Perhaps if the upload speeds are not good enough or are erratic at the other end it shows itself at the receiving mac as stutrter and green screen? I'm definitely no techy but hopefully it might help in or two cases.

Mar 22, 2013 6:49 AM in response to Tru3by Kingdaddy,I have the same problem with the green screen flicker issue on my 2012 27" iMac using Facetime, and it isn't a bandwidth problem. Our bandwidth as shown on speedtest.net is 51megs download speed, and 4.82 upload. I have 32gb ram, so that shouldn't be a problem either.
The interesting thing is, I used Facetime with my iPhone right after experiencing the problem on my iMac, and the problem does not exist. It's only on my iMac.

Jul 9, 2013 9:46 AM in response to wightwulfby gingleby,I found this thread after I too had an issue with facetime and a green flicker that eventually became a solid green screen while audio and the connection remained fine. I'm using a MacBookPro/Mountain Lion have plenty of RAM and plenty of bandwidth.
I noticed that each time my window went green I was calling the same person - and on each occasion that users home phone was ringing in the background when the screen turned green. To test my theory I called the person a third time (using facetime) then asked them to call their land-line. When their land-line started ringing my screen started flickering.
Which leads me to the conclusion that in my situation it had nothing to do with my PC. It's possible the remote parties connection data was corrupted or packets were lost. The remote user has DSL so it's possible there is a filter issue and their phone line is interferring with the data connection - or maybe their telephone (wireless) is interfering with their router.
I don't think I need to patch/fix anything at my end although the issue is annoying. It would be nice if the video feed could resume - as others have said the audio continues to work.

Jul 23, 2013 5:08 AM in response to ginglebyby maxshelley,I am still experiencing this issue on my Macbook Pro Retina on Mountain Lion after originally experiencing it on Macbook Air using Lion.
Same issue as others: call screen starts to flicker green and then turns into a solid green window. Audio for the call continues. Still not fixed.

Sep 1, 2013 7:51 AM in response to wightwulfby RLaM,I'm experiencing the same green screen on my brand new iMac that I just updated to the lastest OS. My iPad and my iPhone, which have not been updated, are running facetime without any trouble. i.e. no green screen.

Sep 21, 2013 9:19 PM in response to chung himby ebuy05,I have the exact same issue on my Macbook air 2012 (I7 model with 8gb RAM). Facetime used to work fine, but over the last months, the screen flickers green and freezes on green.
FT works great with the iPhone and iPad, Facegreen only happens on my mac!!

Jan 19, 2016 2:15 AM in response to ebuy05by TalonUK,I've had this same problem for a while now, it's infuriating! Every week I make a FaceTime call to the office and every time I end up with the green FaceTime window.
I'm now running OS X El Capitan (10.11.2) on a 27-inch Mid 2010 iMac.
Also, I doubt it's anything to do with the connection quality at the other end, as the building has a fibre connection. However, they do use VOIP services, perhaps there's a conflict of some kind?
