Why is AirDrop transfer failing?

I have a mid 2010 Mini and a late 2010 Mac Book Pro that I'm trying to transfer a photo between using AirDrop. I was able to successfully transfer the Xcode install file from my Mini to the laptop earlier this week using it, but now when i try to transfer the photo file (or any other file), I get an error messages in AirDrop on my Mini that says "The transfer failed. Please try again". I can send files from the laptop to the Mini no problem.

The console output looks like this:

Jul 27 21:44:27 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: AirDrop P2P link retained (1)

Jul 27 21:44:27 Peter-Browns-Mac-mini Finder[192]: WormholeClient::didFail(kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork, -1200, "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.")

Jul 27 21:44:29 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: AirDrop P2P link released (0)

Jul 27 21:44:29 My-Name-Mac-mini Finder[192]: Terminate AirDrop P2P link

Exactly the same problem from a Mac Mini Early 2010 to a MacBook Pro 13" Early 2011 (Lion, french).

Everything worked fine until the copy of a big file from an external drive failed.

Now I have the message : «Le transfert a échoué. Reéessayez».

Still works fine from Macbook Pro to Mac Mini.

Anyway to restart Airdrop ? Or check Preferences ?

I too had the same error in Console. Following the suggestion to Force Quit Finder, I relaunched Finder on both systems. Now I can connect. I have a feeling that if a computer has slept for a while it ends up with an old SSL certificate of some sort and it will fail against a newer one. Or some nonsense like that.

Anyway... I now have a 16GB file transferring over (an Aperture library), bypassing my server, and it is rather nice.

I have the same issue between my late 2010 iMac and my late 2011 Macbook Air.

When I try to send from the iMac, everything works as normal. When i try to send from the Macbook air, I get the norwegian translation of "transfer failed, try again" (Overføringen mislyktes. Prøv igjen.).

I have tried to flash the finder and restart the computer but nothing happens.
