[Bonjour/Print] iPhone and Printer on differents IP ranges

Hello,

at work, printers are on 192.168.0.x ip range, and wifi is on 192.168.3.x.

There are many printers with Bonjour protocole, but iPhones with wifi on can't see them.

Is that because the IP ranges are not the sames ?

Thanks

PS : ip ranges are communication wells for all 🙂

Bonjour, or more specifically "multicast DNS service discovery", is usually limited to the local network. Thus, each of your logical networks provided by the two IP address ranges you described, are each a separate "local" network.

You can investigate further, and learn how to setup "Wide area Bonjour".

Or you can create a Bonjour proxy server on each of the two logical networks. Each server would do a proxy advertise for the services that are on the OTHER network, providing a host name and host IP address for those services.
