How much can 320 gb hard drive hold? Do you recommend it for a college student?

I need to know whether to go with the 320 gb hard drive or add the 500 gb hard drive instead.

It can hold 320GB or 320,000MB.

An MP3 say is about 5-10MB, a high definition movie is say 1-3GB.

I would suggest getting the 500GB. You ALWAYS need more room. Trust me, you will fill it.

If you're only going to use it for work, 320G is far more than enough. If you intend to store movies and audio, then even 3 terabytes is not going to be enough.

I use the 320GB drive, but store my photos and slide scans on multiple external 1.5-2tera HDD's. That way they're accessible from other machines too.
