bluetooth won't stay off

My new MacbookAir 13" with Lion is working great except it continues to turn Bluetooth back on every time I re-start, despite my having turned it off in preferences. My Macbook Pro understands that I want it off permanently until I turn it back on. Is there some new setting or combination of settings I need to tweak in the bluetooth preferences to keep it off? I have no bluetooth devices connected so I want to conserve battery power and keep it off.

Experiencing the same thing...brand new MacBook Air 13" purchased this past Monday...every time I reboot or start from off, Bluetooth is on. I turn it off -- both from menu and from System Preferences -- and its on again after a reboot/start from off. Anyone figured out a fix?! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

I found a solution!!!

From the Finder under DEVICES, go to Macintosh HD (hard drive) /library/preferences and delete the comapple.bluetoothplist file and restart the computer.

Apparently the issue we have been having is some glitch in the bluetooth preference file. Deleting it, and restarting the computer will re-generate a new file and all will work like it is supposed to.
