Hi Guys,

I have recently been hacked on my hotmail account, subsequently I changed my password and now on my ipad, it keeps saying the password is incorrect when I try to update it. Even though I recently changed it and it is working on my PC.

Any help would be great as it is getting rather frustrating. Thanks.

p.s. I'm not great with technology but I know enough to realise I'm not being a complete dunce!

You can reset the iPad and see if that helps - hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. If that doesn't help - and it may not - Delete the account from the iPad, restart your iPad and then add the account onto the iPad again. Restart by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the red slider appears and slide to shut down. Hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears to power up.

    Demo.

I deleted the account and restarted the ipad, didn't work whatsoever. I would like to restart the ipad, but will use that as a last resort!

    I have used this website: http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=46bd910c-ed99-497d-80d7-ab8b 11237ed0

And clicked on the iphone link (Closest they had to apple products), but to much dispair, it didn't work!

I have no idea why one day it has decided to not work!

Any more tips/help would be much appreciated

Do you mean that you could not add the account back onto the iPad or that it is still saying your password is incorrect?

If you have a very current backup, you may be able to restore from the backup. But one step at a time.

I could not add the account again as it was saying the same message after verifying my details: 'The user name or password for "pop3.live.com" is incorrect'.

I updated it earlier today, so I shall restart it and plug it back into itunes and get all my apps etc back.

Have tried both and nothing has worked! I reckon I may be better off going into the Apple store and see if they can use their magic touch.

Thanks for your help Demo. Much appreciated.

Connie ... have you considered syncing the mail account to your iPad? If it works on the PC that might be a viable option. I think that would be under the info tab - wherever the tab is to sync contacts.

The other option is to restore your iPad from a backup - assuming that the mail account worked the last time that you backed up. I did this once - deleted a mail account - could not get it set up on the iPad again and then I restored to may last backup and the mail account worked again.
