Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and see how much RAM is installed; you need to increase this to at least 2GB.

I think they mean RAM. You need at least 2gb to run Lion with 4gb highly recommended. To see how much RAM you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac,
I'm having the same problem, and I checked "about this mac." It said I only have 1 GB, but how do i up my RAM to 4 GB? Do I have to buy it? If so, where?

Yes, you would have to buy more RAM to increase to 4GB. See http://www.crucial.com and choose your system in the system selector to see what's available. Or see OWC at http://www.macsales.com .
