Yahoo mail is not downloading to iPhone Mail

My yahoo mail is no longer downloading the the iPhone Mail area. It looks like it's trying to download, but flashes and goes away. New Mail is not received. I've tried removing yahoo mail (multiple times), rebooting iphone. Everything that I know of with no luck.

I'm on version 4.3.5 (8L1)

iPhone 4, Other OS

Please pardon the intrusion…

Hi, Lawrence!

Congratulations on advancing to Level 6!

At the Water Cooler in the Level 6+ Lounge, we are throwing virtual confetti in celebration of your attainment of Level 6-dom. Would you care to join us at the Water Cooler?

Towards the bottom of the index on the Apple Support Communities Home Page you soon will find the Lounge link available to you. It should work for you within the next 24 hours if all goes as it should.

Hope to see you there soon! User uploaded file

I am having the same problem, but with all 3 of my mail accounts including my gmail. I've tried all of the fixes, resetting the accounts, restarting the phone, etc.. but as of four days ago, it simply stopped pushing email in or out. It looks like it's trying with the spinning wheel at the bottom, but the wheel doesn't appear at the top of the screen so I k ow it's actually accessing the server.

I was having the same issue. Fixed in the end as follows:

In Yahoo WebMail, created a 'temp_inbox' folder.

Move all mail from Inbox into the temp_inbox

I could then send and receive new Yahoo! emails using webmail and iphone

Then using the WebMail I moved messages from temp_inbox into Inbox one by one starting with the most recent.

All was ok until I moved a mesage back from 19-Aug-2011, then the problem started again.

Moved it back to temp_inbox and all was ok.

For me, it seems like having any email in the Yahoo! Inbox before 19-Aug triggers the problem.

So I've just kept all emails before that in temp_inbox for now 'until' Yahoo fix it... 😉

Hope this works for you.

might be too late but in case others stumble onto this thread. On your phone Go to Settings>General>Reset.

the tap on the first one Reset All Settings.. it "does not" delete anything

This will reverts back your wall paper and other simple stuff like battery percent that you can figure out how to get back quickly enough.

But it fixes the yahoo mail issue

P.S. iOS 4.2.10

Settings>General>Reset didn't work for me. I got the Iphone 4S, set up the email, it worked for 24 hours, then just quite. Now it loads 2 to 5 emails that I recieved on Sept 29th. As I deleted them, it started retrieving emails from the 28th, then the 27th. I sent myself an email, then did a search on the iphone for it and it found it. I showed 1 email from Oct 16 and the other 2 or 3 were from Sept. It's missing all the ones in between. (yes, I have a full inbox). But it's so odd, worked great for 24 hours then started doing this. Very annoying!

Obviously I'm using IOS 5.

I tried all suggested in this thread.

- Deleted account in my iphone, reboot then set it up again.

- go to my yahoo account setting via internet explorer to recheck the allow pop mail

- tried using normal mobile connection other than WIFI connection,

- deleted a couple of mails has helped to update some of the emails in sent folders BUT not ALL and LATEST one,

however INBOX remains the same. tried to load and reflected as updated but nothing comes through.

- tried to set up the server but cannot detect. doesnt help too.

OH gosh!!! hope it will be resolved soon!!!

the other alternative is to download the Yahoo! App for mobile mail!

To all,

I did the following in order after having this problem for a week on my iphone:

Go to the new yahoomail page and make sure the 'forwarding email' option is ticked

Delete/move the emails on the server that were immediately after the last one on my iphone

perform a hard reset on the phone

After doing all of that it now works perfectly, not sure which element you need to do but a combination of all three worked for me
