I installed Lion last weekend, the first Time Machine backups went pretty smoothly. Now all of a sudden Time Machine wants to do a 178 GB backup, although I hardly used my computer since the last backup which was 2 days ago. It amounts to two thirds of my used disk space. What's going on??

I've been running Lion for a few days and am encountering the same problem. It appears that Time Machine is backing up my whole harddrive each time (437 GB out of 452 GB!). Besides being very time consuming, it makes the fans run like crazy. It is definitely not backing up just files that have changed since the last backup.
