Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My printer - Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300 DL - no longer works under Lion. With Snow Leopard I used a 2340 DL printer driver but when I installed Lion the printer just stopped working. Can anyone suggest a solution, please?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer? If you can't use the same driver you were using before, try using a generic PPD if it is available under "Print Using" when you add your printer.
Well, rusot, I uninstalled as you sugggested and now it won't install correctly! Any suggestetions as to what I should do now?
I would start by contacting your printer's vendor and finding out if they have newer drivers for it. Even though your printer is almost 10 years old I'm sure you can convince them that it still needs to be supported.
If that doesn't work, see if you have the option to install using a generic driver.
My apologies for doubting your advice! I went to the Konica Minolta web site and they had a Mac version of the Konica Minolta 2430 DL printer driver. (No 2340!) I downloaded and installed this and attached it to the Konica Minolta 2300 DL. Hey, presto! Everything now works!

I am having this issue as well. Did you use the 2430DL driver for Mac OS 10.6.x ? I did not see a 10.7 / Lion version.

Hi Rick,
I used an earlier version of the 2430DL driver before the upgrade to Lion and then just downloaded the most recent version on the KM web site. I think the latest version is 1.9.0.

The latest KM Driver for the 2430 (v 1.5, which is actually from 2005!) does not work with the OS 10.7. Any other ideas?
Further update just got off the phone with KM - they said that they had submitted their updated drivers to apple, and apple said they won't be ready until mid november. Bummer!
Doug - Version 1.9.0 of the 2430DL driver is compatible with Lion and is available at Konica Minolta's Japanese website. It's actually dated October 5 on the site, so it looks like it is brand new? To save you the trouble of trying to navigate through Japanese, here's the link to the download:

Looks like it may have been updated again. I found a version 2.0.2420.0 on Konica Minolta's European web site. I haven't tried it yet but the web site states that it's compatible with 10.10 and 10.11.
