Looks like you need to have a developer account - and in there you will have access to the Newstand Kit.

Newsstand

Publish the latest issues of your magazines and newspapers directly to Newsstand, the new folder on the Home Screen. Newsstand Kit provides everything you need to update new issues in the background, so you can always present the most recent cover art. Apps built for Newsstand use In-App Purchase subscriptions, making it easy for users to manage their auto-renewable subscriptions. And it's now possible to provision your app for In-App Purchase within Xcode.

Honestly, not yet. I did some searching for "newstand kit" but couldn't find it anywhere. I recently downloaded the latest Xcode SDK so it may be in there, but I haven't checked yet. Our product is still in development so I don't have any epubs or pdfs to play around with anyway. When I have some time I will check the program out and let you know. Please update this thread if you find any info, as newstand info is still quite sparse online....

Hi Edoardo,

publishing to the iPad with QuarkXPress is probably one of the least expensive solutions around currently and still offering compelling iPad features.

But you should not have to take my word for it, try it yourself: The 30-day Test Drive is not crippled in any way and you can use it to publish to the iPad: http://www.quark.com/Products/QuarkXPress/Test_Drive.aspx

And Quark's solution also will support the Newsstand in iOS 5.

Matthias

Hello Edoardo,

We have created a PDF Magazine Reader for iPhone & iPad as Universal application and we have integrated 3rd Party InApp Purchase System from UrbainAirship.com with Push Notification, which means you can use this application as your own Magazine reader and through the Admin / Control Panel of UrbainAirship you can upload your new issues as and when needed.

If you don't want to use UrbainAirship then we can help you create your own Control Panel in PHP and host that on your server.

Please contact me on skype (rakesh.patel.m) (rakesh @space-o)

Thanks

Rakesh

By far the easiest way to do this (if you have Adobe InDesign) is to download the Folio Builder update and link it to your Adobe ID to make use of their Digital Publishing Suite.

You can then use your developer account to publish it through iTunes/Newsstand.

These two YouTube vids should help you get started:
