Can't Install Printer To MacBook Pro! Help?!

I recently bought a new macbook pro which came with a free printer. When trying to install the new printer (hp desk jet 3054) an error message appears saying that the printer software isn't compatible with my computer software (os x) what can i do? Or would my best bet be returning the printer?

If you installed the software that was included with the printer then it most likely is not Lion compatible and I suggest you look at removing it. The easiest way would be to trash the HP folder, located in Library > Printers.

Looking at the list of printer driver software for Lion, there is a Deskjet 3050 series. So if you had the Mac connected to the Internet when you connect the printer to it the driver will be downloaded from Apple and installed on your Mac.
