Corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format?

Hello!

I was working in FCPx the other day and my computer just randomly black screened and shut down. It wouldn't turn back on so I called Apple. Turns out I the power supply was bad, so they replaced that and Voila, I'm back up and running. HOWEVER, the FCPx Project File I was using isn't opening. (It's not already in the FCPx Project Library window, so I went to the finder to find it. I double clicked the actual file and now I get this message from FCPx.

"The document “CurrentVersion.fcpproject” could not be opened. The file isn’t in the correct format. The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format."

What? Do I just have to throw that Project away and start completely over? Gosh, that would sure be cool.

Any thoughts, comments, or aimless stabs in the dark are welcome!

Yep. Apple didn't have any fixes. The project is lost. Basically they just gave me some safeguard tips to prevent the issue happening again.

1) Transcode media to ProRes before even importing. (I'm using XDCAM files)

2) Copy your timeline, and paste it into a new one periodically to ensure backup.... or something.

3) Always drag media into the project via the browser on the right. Never use the finder. The finder is bad.

Basically all of us long time FCP7 users are going through a world of hurt, just to get one simple video made. I don't even know if I can emotionally handle this rollercoaster. I'm spent.
