Oct 19, 2016 6:45 AM in response to kittimcby pingopilot,After the Update to Sierra, I have the same problem:
I can see 2 draft mails, but there is all text content vanished.
Only an empty mail attachment (new!) is shown.
How can I restore the text of my draft?
Is there any place in finder, where I can read the content, if I restore it with time machine?
(Full time machine backup is available)
Thanks

Oct 19, 2016 8:19 AM in response to pingopilotby Eric Root,You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
Try rebuilding the mailbox.
If that doesn't work, try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.
Reindex messages For El Capitan, try looking in V3.

Oct 22, 2016 1:21 PM in response to Eric Rootby pingopilot,Thanks. This did not bring my draft mails back.
I will now look, if I find them in my timemachine backup, when I'm back at home (should be there? ~/Library/Mail/V3)

Oct 23, 2016 8:49 AM in response to kittimcby pingopilot,I have Sierra but with the Update from Captain to Sierra the Draft text vanished.
Therefore I will look for V3.
Are Draft Mails there somehow named that I find it?
