Keyboard stops working Pages

I installed Lion and the latest version of Pages from the App Store. I am having issues where the keyboard stops working inside Pages. I can't type, use the arrow keys, or any keyboard shortcuts that affect Pages (OS shortcuts still work, like Command-space, but command-Q to quit Pages does not). If I switch to another app (just by clicking the icon in the dock) then switch back to Pages, the keyboard will work. But if I use the trackpad to scroll more than a line or two, the keyboard no longer works. I click back in the document to place the cursor, but I cannot type, cut-and-paste don't work, etc.

This happens consistenly, every time I open Pages, for every document. The length of the document does not matter. Switching to another document inside Pages also doesn't work. The keyboard doesn't work in either until I switch to another program (Chrome or TextMate or anything, it seems), then switch back to Pages. After scrolling inside Pages, the keyboard stops working again.

This basically makes Pages unusable! Help! Everything works fine with an external keyboard and mouse, and everything works fine in LibreOffice, so I guess that's where I'll be for the time being ...

Have you installed any third-party utilities, particularly Better Touch Tool?

The usual cause for my keyboard, Magic Mouse and/or Magic Trackpad to stop working is that something is leaning on one of them. I don't use BTT & because of the problems I've seen people have with it & iWork, I'll pass.
