Oct 31, 2013 10:44 AM in response to kkd78by aperezy,Thanks ... I bought my first mac about two months ago and I recently upgraded it to maverick. Now I can run the recommended rule however because I have an image logo as my signatures, all my outgoing emails are marked with a paperclip, which is annoying. I use the paperclip extensively to differentiate emails. I am thinking seriously to move to Thunderbird.
Any suggestions???
Thank
Alfredo

Another solution of sorts.
Make a Smart Mailbox
Mailbox/New Smart mailboxWhen filling in the criteria for the Snart Mail box:
Call it something: 'Contains Attachments'
'Contains messages that match 'all' of the following conditions'
Choose 'Contains attchments'
'check', include messages from Sent, if you want that.
'Ok'
Then all the files w attachements will be in the folder, even tho the paper clip column has nothing in it in most cases. At least you will know that email does have an attachement.

Feb 13, 2014 3:22 AM in response to Hope108by confetti, thanks for the tip - though I wonder, it will probably show all attachments = icons, headers, etc from html mails too. i.e. everything that shows up under save/attachments

well, very good point....
Ok, just checked, and only the attachments that start showing up after you do the solution that was mentioned earlier in this thread about making a 'rule' and applying it to the 'sent' folder, those are the only ones showing up, plus a few others that were not in the sent folder, but they are not the html emails. They are regular attacments from emails that werent in the sent folder.
In other words, it is working, this smart folder idea.
You could also include in checking 'in trash' see pic below. if you want to change the setting on the criteria, just double click the name of the smart folder in the sidebar of Mac Mail, and this window shown here will pop up allowing any changes.
