Just a thought, If anyone has purchased Logic Pro 9 from the App Store, then they should leave feedback describing the issues.  Unfortunatly, I've got the box version so I can't.

Did anyone reinstall the latest Pro-Kit Update and the Logic Pro 9.1.7? After I did this I never had this issue anymore, I know it makes no sense, but this is my experience on two systems with Lion 10.7.4!

I havent read all 15 pages but would changing Logic so it opens in 64 bit rather than 32 help? May ease the burden on the RAM or system as whole? Article on Logic Cafe showing how to do it.

ive got a 2012 macbook pro with logic pro (latest version) touch wood mine is ok the only problem ive had is if you use ultrabeat, record a drum pattern then BIP without turning UB sequencer off Logic crashes in spectacular fashion.

NoEC on the LogicProHelp forum website reinstalled Pro-Kit 7 on his ML system and it appeared to resolve the issue.  I won't post any links incase the mods block me, but have a look at the "studio bugs and workarounds" section on the other forum.  Maybe it was the way he installed Pro-Kit?

Im not sure how he did install it, I know the PK7 update isn't letting me install right now, telling me there is a newer version already on my ML system .... hmmmmmmmmm

That's what I did first – reinstalled Prokit, after that Logic said I should reinstall MacOS. So it's a risk, think twice please.

im stupid for even doing this, I loathe fixes like this one.  I always think i fouled up something.

Well, this fix did not work for me.  Still laggy Logic.

And now Im left with a strange mismatch of correct installed packages.

Actually Im going to do an OS Recovery.  May as well get back to the original situation rather than start mucking with stuff and have no idea what issues I may cause.

Quick question though, If I do my recovery for the OS /holding alt from bootup etc)  and then use migration assistant to move me back on from the time machine, will it be like simply refreshing my OS?

For those who new , check my video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4n2bIBII0

Problems appears on Snow Leopard too, but it takes much more plugins to recreate it. Btw thats tru that 64-bit make it little smoother, but still this is not a solution.

I am hesitant to agree with the fact that SL is affected by this exact bug.

I have 2 other machines here both running 10.6.8 with no issues whatsoever with ther Channel EQs.  This does not rule out the possibility, but if it is the same, far less machines are affected.

Leaning towards the snow leopard machines just naturally running a bit slower (due to age?)

This happening on a new i7 with only 2 plugins inserted total is a proper issue.

i have quad core i7 mbp 2011 , and just ChannelEQ's is not anough to present this problem on SL. BUT if u have big project with lot of waves , plugin alliance and spl plugins u will see lagging comes up just like in Lion and ML. With just 40% of processor usage whole GUI start to respond slowly. Again - it takes much more plugins , but still =(

Test it on your machines, take those plugins that i show in my video and fill like 5 busses and output with it, u will see .

Im just not seeing them Im running projects here at 100% cpu on both of these SL machines, and the worst that happens are system overload messages.

BUT, those plugin alliance plugins ARE notorious on their own for grinding systems response times. If so that is a different issue.

So as new Waves plugins, SPL, BrainWorx and every new goods that comes out ) So i think thats still our issue.

Its hard to really say dude, its like complaining that your computer warms up when you play StarCraft2

take out any brainworx, maag, Character plugins, and see how it goes

But if it laggs hard on radeon HD7999 4GB vram - thats unreasonable ! I would accept if CPU was at limit, or RAM maxed out, or video system cant handle it, but SSD,  8 cores , 16 gig and 1gb 6750 is MORE than enought to handle it.

Btw the whole video system of logic seems to be outdated. Yeasterday i was making soundtrack for one parkour video, and logic was choking from 5 min 720p video in my project, while i tried to write some sound. I think whole story is about bad video handling code or something. With GPU like that it must be smooth like a motherlover =) Or Ram , cuz i was getting system overloads and disk issues every minute till i opened logic in 64bits.
