how do i unmagnify my desktop screen

hi everyone i would like to know how i zoom out on my mac as it seems everything is to big for the screen i.e desktop over laps if i see thee safari tab top left i cant then see my wifi in the top right unless i scroll across please help if you can i'm sure one of my little terrors has hit several buttons some how. this is for a imac.

Also, look in System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing


Check to see if Zoom got turned on. If it has, you can turn it off there.


Note that Zoom has a keyboard activate/deactivate command, Command-Option-8 which can allow accidental activation of Zoom. You can disable that keyboard shortcut if you wish. To do so, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, click Universal Access in the left pane, then uncheck the Zoom item in the right pane.
