Does anyone know how to pause Keynote 9.0 while doing a voiceover narration? The keystrokes W B and F, which Keynote Help says will pause, don't work, and of course you can't put the cursor on the red record buttong while playing the Keynote, as there is no cursor. Can't believe Apple is this lame on something this basic.

It took a while to figure this out, but: go to Preferences in Keynote, click on the Slideshow tab at the top. Make sure the "Show pointer when mouse moves" is selected. Then when you record you will be able to click the red button at the top left to pause and resume the recording. I still haven't conquered W, B, and F, but I really don't need to since I can pause in this manner. I hope that helps. 🙂

This helps ... but any idea why the keys don't work? I would really like to be able to click a key instead of making sure I'm right over the button to pause the recording. Seems like a pretty simple thing to fix? Or is there another setting that I'm missing?
The pause buttons are hard wired into keynote so should work without additional setup.
As newer versions of OS and Keynote have been issued since this thread started, what version of Keynote and OS X are you using?
Even worse if you know how to pause is the issue of narration changes which DOES NOT erase everything going forward but records the old narration with the new so that it sounds like completely unintelligible nonsense.
As there are so many issues with recording and playing a narration, I use QuickTime to record the audio for individual slides, then place each sound file on the correct slide, result is what recording within Keynote should be.
you may well have changed my life .... I've been struggling with this for years.
Requires a little bit more effort but is the best way to sync audio and images.
