Application window disappears when disconnected from external monitor

I was running a program (Final Cut Pro) on my macbook pro and had it displayed on an external monitor. I closed the application (it was still over on the external monitor when I did this), then disconnected the monitor. Now, with the external monitor disconnected, when I try to open the application, I can't see anything. The application is up and running--when I enable expose and click on all windows, the application shows up but won't let me drag it over to my macbook pro desktop. So basically it looks as though it is stuck over where the external monitor should be and I can't get it on my normal desktop. It seems as though I would have to hook up the external monitor, open the application, drag it over, and then quit the application, but I won't be near my extrenal monitor for several months and I need to run this application. But there must be a way to solve this problem.

Can anyone please help me?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2), none
