There were several items in the trash and when I emtied it one remained, and no amount of emptying will remove it. It is an empty folder. So when I attempted to put it back in its original location, I get the error [code]The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8072).[/code]
Has anyone seen this before?
Any ideas on how to comple emptying the trash?

Start wtih a google search for error 8072 and be enlightened.
Had already done that,, but nothing I found helped. The folder is in the trash now -- emptying trash reports success but the file remains; attempting the "put back" command reports -8072; reboot did not seem to help; cannot find the folder from the command prompt.

Does the File belong to a Drive that isn't connected at the moment...
Have you tried a Complete Shutdown of the Mac...?

I *believe* this specific file was on myh internal drive originally. I have shutdown and rebooted several times. And I had read that article and tried everything in it, to no avail.
This happened after the upgrade to Lion, so the tool is not usefule. Thanks.
Using Terminal to remove the .Trashes folders from the two external drives managed to resolve the issue. Thanks.
