Visit normal, non mobile websites on Safari for iPhone?

I just recently got an iphone and I really like it so far, but when I visit espn's website I get forced to their mobile site which is not what I want. Is there a way to change the settings on Safari to load webpages normally?

Thanks

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.3

When using Safari on iPhone, it is usally the website that decides whether to push a mobile version of a site. When a web developer such as the ones who wrote the website for ESPN, they have the ability to tell which browser you are using when you access the site.

So, that being said, there is no way to force safari to pull the normal page, that would be up to the developer of the webpage. That being said, I took a trip on over to the ESPN webpage on my iPhone. It looks like if you scroll all the way to the bottom you can click on the ESPN.com link and it will take you away from the mobile page, and give you the full content page you would normally see on your computer.

The reason ESPN is serving up a mobile version is that your iPhone is sending Safari (iPhone) as what's called the User Agent. The User Agent is used to identify what browser you are using to visit a site. As Safari Mobile does not support changing the User Agent, you're stuck with the mobile version of ESPN. You might be able to download an alternative browser from the App Store, such as iChromy or Opera Mobile, that will solve your issue as they will have a different User Agent. If the only reason you're visting ESPN is to get scores, use the ScoreCenter app instead.
