iMovie '11 event library missing all iPhoto videos?

I "upgraded" to iMovie '11 and none of my iPhoto videos are showing in iMovie events library.

I tried the Quictime 7 solution, the emptying of the iPhoto trash solution.....nothing works.

The videos are accessible from iPhoto, they play in both QT10 and QT7, but they would not show up in the iMovie library nor can they be pasted from iPhoto into the iMovie project.

I feel like in the old MS Windows days, am I dreaming ?

Please help.....thank you in advance.

And just like that....it's working again. The only other thing I did after I sent that last message was emptying my iPhoto trash, closing iMovie, closing iPhoto, and then reopening iMovie. When iMovie reopened, the event library had 'iPhoto Library' listed and it's now taking about 15 minutes to reubilld thumbnails (I have a large iPhoto library - over 30,000 items and many movies).

So - since my iPhoto prefs were already set to copy items into iPhoto - the 2 changes I did were creating the smart album and deleting iPhoto trash.

Good luck to others having this problem!

I tried many remedies and found that the simplest remedy finally fixed it: delete the imovie preferences file and restart iMovie, which re-builds the thumbnail library.

In finder, option-click Go, then Library, then go to the Preferences folder, then delete com.apple.iMovieApp.plist

This is on OS 10.8 Mountiain Lion, with iMovie '11 and iPhoto '11
