I wish to purchase a webcam for use with Skype. I have a 12" PowerBook G4 with OS X 10.4.11, 1.33 GHz. What inexpensive webcams are compatible with my laptop? (Mine is the metal case. The model number is: PowerBook 6,4) Please advise.

When I go to look for a suitable webcam, what compatibility criteria must I find? I know most products are for newer versions of the MacOS X but my computer can't use those. Looking at that list, most of them speak generically of MacOS X. If I find the macam to download will that take care of the problem? Also, do I have to worry about Port issues? (I saw that somewhere but could find no info on my computer about that.) If I am looking in the <$30 price range, what model of Logitech or Creative or any other brand do you recommend?

You can possible get a used one for $30-$50 on Craig's List or eBay. Be sure & get one with the laptop mount. The first versions only came with a table mount.
