Lion: How to Rebuild Account List?

Hello,

In Mail, when I run Windows>Connection Doctor, I see more email accounts listed than I have configured in Preferences>Accounts. These are old mail accounts that I once had.

When I go to ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Accounts.plist (please correct me if I'm looking in the wrong place), the .plist file also contains the extra mail accounts.

Rather than hack into this plist file and potentially screw up mail, is there a better alternative to ensure Mail's configuration files match what I configure from within the app itself?
