I cannot receive pictures in mms with unlocked iphone on tmobile.

How can I fix this? (I already contacted Apple support and Tmobile support and what they told me to do didn't help.

These are the settings they told me to use:

MMS

APN wap.voicestream.com

Username [blank]

Password [blank]

MMSC http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080

MMS Max Message Size 1048576

MMS UA Prof URL http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

I was also told by Tmobile to try using Cydia but I can't find that app in the App Store...

Thanks for any help.

They are suggesting that you jailbreak your iPhone; use Google to find details it can't be discussed here and will void your warranty once you do so. It is the only way you will be able to use MMS on T-Mobile.

You also will not be able to use FaceTime or Visual Voice Mail and you will only be able to get EDGE data speeds (about 100kps max if you have a great signal and no one else is using the tower).

Google "iPhone MMS T-Mobile" for resolution of that problem.

If you're on T-Mobile in the US. This is just one of the many features that does not work with T-Mobile's network. T-Mobile in the US is NOT a supported carrier and their network is NOT fully compatible with the iPhone. As stated, 3G will not work, FaceTime will not work, and it seems MMS will not work either. Assuming you have a recently purchased factory unlocked iPhone, AT&T is the only fully supported and compatible network in the US you can use it on. (Discounting, of course Verizon, with which the GSM phone is not compatible.)

I'm not sure why I would need to jailbreak it if I bought it unlocked... Are you sure?

I am able to send pictures and video and receive video, just not pictures. I would think if I can see videos there must be some way I can see pictures, right?

Nope, according to everything I've found, and what you were told by T-Mobile, for MMS to fully work you will have to jailbreak it, which is very different from it being unlocked.
