I started getting that also starting yesterday on Safari also, strange, never saw that before. I got there through a bookmark on my ipad (using latest OS and 1st gen) and then also went there from yahoo's main website, so it seems to be a legit address, weird. Maybe it has something to do with that new version of yahoo mail and it has some bugs?I don't know.

Go to your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies.

Delete all Yahoo cookies.

If you are running Safari 5.1, in Preferences select the Privacy tab.

Click: Remove All Website Data

Quit then relaunch Safari. Try logging into Yahoo mail.

In the future, when you post for help, please tell us which Mac OS X you have installed and which version of the software you are having problems with. In this case Safari.

I'm having the same problem. I have tried removing "all website data" several times, and it still happens. For me, this has occurred when I'm using Safari as well as when I try it on Google Chrome. I was finally able to get around it on Chrome, but I was afraid to login until I know for sure that it isn't a rogue website. I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 with Snow Leopard and Safari (unsure which version). I'm able to get my yahoo email via my iPhone, but some of my messages were delayed yesterday.

Running OS X 10.6.8, Safari 5.1, having the identical problem and removing all web site sata did not fix it. Having the problem in Chrome, but not on Firefox. Have not yet tested IE.

A week or two back I had a message from Yahoo saying they suspected an attempt to compromise my PW and suggested I change it, which I did. Could that have been some bogus thing? Did any of the others experiencing this problem have a similar occurrence?

Additonal comment to above ... also having the problem with IE. I am beginning to suspect this is a serious hack. What seems to be happening is it is re-routing what should be an access to login.yahoo.net to login.yahoo.com, which may be a bad place. Something comes up saying "There's a new master of the digital universe.You." If you go search on that something comes up saying do not proceed this could be a hijack attempt. So now I am not sure if I should even connect to my Yahoo email. There is no way to get help from Yahoo so I don't know what to do.

* any-login-net.lga1.b.yahoo.com has address 98.139.241.93

This entry looks legit. host login.yahoo.com yields 98.139.241.93.

*any-login-net.lga1.b.yahoo.com has address 66.196.106.174

This line does not look legit. (How can a domain name expand to two IP addresses anyway?) Reverse IP lookup on the 98.139 addresses reveal ISP Yahoo on server in Sunnyvale, CA. Reverse lookup on this one reveals ISP Inktomi Corporation in New Port Richey, FL.

everytime i go to yahoo mail, a message appears saying " safari cant verify the identity of login.yahoo.net". Did anybody encounter the same problem? I have been opening yahoo mail without this problem.
