iPad wifi password

I've just bought the ipad2, but I've found that I cannot connect to the wifi. doing research on the Internet I fount that the problem may be in the password, as it contains special characters(@,$,!) and I read that the ipad2 reads the @ as the end of the password. Is this true? Is there a workaround without having to change the wifi password?

Thank you,

Nick Castro

You raise an interesting question but the simple and reasonable answer to me is if that the iPad reads the @ symbol as the end of any line of text, you would not be able to use any email addresses on the device. Does this make sense? I have never read of that with regard to the iPad.

There could be many reasons why you can't connect to this point. Did you try to reboot your router and cable modem....unplug for about 30 seconds and then plug in again? Reset Network Settings ... settings>general>reset>reset network settings? You will have to re-enter the password if you try this.

I find that more often than not, my problem is that I am simply mistyping my password when I have issues similar to yours. The freaking password has about 150 characters and symbols and inevitably, I screw it up a few times before I get it entered correctly.

Well the explanation I had found is that it reads the @ as the end os a password. Though I'm definitely not sure on what basis the person said so. I did try to reset the router, and did type the password several times. Furthermore it does not say wrong password, but just failed to connect. The signal is strong, and I have no problem whatsoever with my MacBook pro. Thanks for your answer.

Maybe you can find something in one of these two articles that will solve your problems. You can give them a look over. Another first step fix sort of thing is to update your router firmware if one is available so you might consider that as well.

Are you getting the "incorrect password" message or does the iPad seem to accept it but not go any further?

Did you try to reset the network settings? Forget this network setting? Renew lease? You can find those settings in WiFi when you tap the blue arrow next to your networks name.

Sorry it took so long but I was away for some time, plus I had some trouble connecting to the router. I removed the protection from the wireless and then put it back on with the same identical password, and now it connects with no problem... Weird, hope it keeps working though. Thank you very much for your help.
