Flash video player crashes OSX Lion

Matt I have the exact same model of iMac as you, and have been having the same problem! It's so annoying, I called support like 4 times and they just say we have to wait until Adobe sends out the newest version of Flash to fix it... Seems to me like Apple should be able to figure out the problem though since the problem only seems to happen after the computer comes out of sleep.

Yeah I did Flash 11 beta too and it STILL is locking up when I try to watch Flash based videos or streams after waking up my computer from sleep.

Flash 11 beta doesnt fix the problem.

Just reloaded Snow leopard back on my mac.I would advise you all do the same. Apple will not charge you for redownloading lion on your computer so, just switch back to Snow leopard for the time being.

Same problem, but has not flash installed!

Usually when the iMac has been in suspend/resume mode and after that iTunes fails playing back videos "Freeze the screen." Have a brand new iMac i5 delivered with Lion 10.7 6770m video chipset.

My current workaround for the problem is to set my computer to Never go to Sleep in the Energy preferences, and also to just shut down the computer at night to save energy. I also put the display to sleep on the 1 minute timer so I can save energy that way (in lieu of being able to let the computer sleep, which would be great except this stupid bug is preventing all of us from being able to).

Hey, how did you go about switching back to Snow Leopard?

Used my snow leopard disc to reformat the primary partition.

This new Adobe Flash Player version came out recently. Version 10.3.183.5 might fix issues.

The best option, if you intend eventually to reinstall Lion, is to leave it where it is and use an external disk as a boot disk for Snow Leopard. Will save you a lot of time in the long run.

I still have Snow Leopard on my computer as the OS, and Lion on an external hard drive, while testing it.

So far it runs very well, no issues.

I have the same problem! This really *****, cuz I've invested so much time and worked so hard to buy this new mac ( it is approx. 1 month old) and now it's crashing way much more than the old (windows) laptop I had.....

Message to Apple: I've expected way much more from you guys..... Such a same!

well i warned people several weeks ago my brand new 2011 imac was crashing/freezing ---no one wanted to believe it

i finally realized it was flash...but upgraded, etc. still crashed...even today

looks like this IS the major issue for new imacs

now they seem to be saying upon waking up from sleep. lol

Let me remind everyone that this is not Apple's problem, since it only occurs with Flash videos. This is Adobe's problem, and no one should be upset with Apple over this.

Adobe software has a ton of problems running on OS X Lion. See here. It's interesting this page doesn't even mention that their Flash Player causes it to crash. I wonder what other problems their softwares have that they didn't include in this list. Funny they didn't fix these problems before Lion was released. Now everyone is very very frustrated with Adobe, including myself. I feel really bad for the people that spend thousands of dollars on Adobe software and then they drag their feet when it comes to fixing bugs like this one.

Anyways, just be on the lookout for any updates. It better not be long, Adobe.

i had to browse this board for weeks and experience my issue over and over again
