iPod Nano 6th Bluetooth adapter

I want to use a bluetooth adapter on my ipod nano 6G. I have an iO bluetooth adapter which runs off ipod power but when i use it the music is intermittent. Does anyone know if getting an adapter with it's own power will work? is the nano battery too small or not powerful enough to power an adapter?
