What is echelon?

I've been examining my kernel logs and I noticed the following lines:

Aug 2 12:26:30 Oliviers-iMac kernel[0]: echelon v1.2.1

Aug 2 12:26:30 Oliviers-iMac kernel[0]: echelon: start!

Aug 2 12:26:30 Oliviers-iMac kernel[0]: echelon: client connected (1)

Does anyone know what this echelon thing (system app?) is? What does it do?

Thanks Colin. I had found that search result which seems to be game related. However, I haven't installed any games mentioning anything about echelon! I also think that if it was related to a game app then it would be logged under software logs and not kernel logs.

It seems to be some sort of client and I'd like to know what its function is.
