Assuming that you tapped the sleep button to try to wake the iPad and that did not work - Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider.

I did hold down sleep and home buttons, still no change. Ipad did not refresh, stop, or restart.

If the iPad is totally unresponsive - you may need to restore it. Is the iPad recognized in iTunes when you connect it to your computer? Read this for more information but you have probably tried all of these steps so that's why I am suggesting a restore. If you have a good backup, you can restore from your backup and not lose any data.

Hi, I have the same problem I hope someone can help me. My iPad screen stopped working. Sometimes the home screen photo flashes but its black! The brain of it is still working as I have synched my photos and I hear the dinging of my email notifications. I have reset the ipadv(held both buttons for near 1 minute but nothing)..BUT as the screen doesn't work its impossible for me to see if the reset is working etc. Is anyone having or had this problem? What can I do to fix it? I did nothing irresponsible for this to happen, it was sitting plugged into the wall outlet charging when I noticed that this happened.

I have tapped the sleep, held down the sleep and home, restored... NOTING... after 3 hours of use - I am so disappointed....

ANYTHING further to do or just return it?

I as well just did an update to the new software hoping it would fix the "bug" in my ipad..nothing..did a restore..nothing..once while I was doing the restore my ipad screen did trun blue with a whirly white "thinking" symbol and it at times flashed my new home screeen but only for a second..when i touch the home screen the homescreen "glows" a grey hugh colour but thats about it...****** off thats for sure. I have done ALL the troubleshooting ideas on Apple Website. I think now what I will do is go to future shop where I bought it and seek help from the geek squad apple people.  All of my warrantly has run out so I hope this doesn't cost a fortune
