My iPhone says "Charging not supported with this accessory"

Why wont my phone charge with any chargers? i have to keep plugging and unplugging it just to charge it. plus it doesnt hold charge for as long as it used to, not it only holds charge for about 7 hours. i am not under warranty but can apple replace my iphone 4? but before replacement, what can i do to fix this?
