customers should have the right to delete their information.

It is naive to think "information fades away". All information is stored under your account.

This information can & will be used to target you.

As google gave the right to delete personal information on the net, so should Apple community. I remember a great commercial on the Macintosh. It was anti-Big Brother.

I would like to see this commercial come to live on this community.

So I should be able to delete this post one day.

    Thanks for taking care

I agree with you that you should  be able to delete your account, but that doesn't make it so.

You can edit your account and change anything you want to whatever you want ... like blanks or dashes.  For a phone number you can enter area code 555.1212 which is directory assistance.

It has to do with recordkeeping, methinks

All purchases of hardware, software & media are "connected" to one's Apple ID in perpetuity. Apple needs THEIR records intact, even if you don't.

I have seen senior members recommending > Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security in this very context (do not recall any feedback on success or failure)

There are reason to keep an account even after the user requests a delete.  Perhaps some of these firms that support delete are hiding the account.

There is the wayback machine [ https://archive.org/web/ ] for forum data that has been "deleted".  Deleting something may make you feel good, but don't count on it being gone.

Does anyone know how to delete an Apple Community posts? I felt the community is not doing a good job answering my question, but just throwing criticism about my posts.

I cannot delete it or remove the Apple Community posts entirely.

You cannot. You have 15 minutes from the time you post them to edit them. After that, they are, essentially, Apple's property and only Apple can make the decision to delete them. Generally, that's only done if they violate the terms of service and someone reports them as having done so. Unless your posts have personal information that would represent a threat to your privacy, it's unlikely that they would be removed.

This is Apple's site. Once a post is made you have a 15 minute edit window. After that other users who have reached level 2 or above may report post for editing/removal if they breach the site's terms of use, but you have no options for editing or deleting the thread. I've had a quick skim of your thread Browsing for Certified Refurbished Apple 5 IPhones and cannot see anything that I would consider worthy of reporting.
