I am attempting to export a 1080P ProRes LT file (I have tried with other formats too so this is not the issue) from QTX on Lion and all the format options only give me an audio file after exporting - no video. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I have exactly the same problem, only sound comes out of export on my MBPro, MB Air and Imac. Using1080p Apple ProRes 422. Have had no problems on computer with Snow Leopard, all seem to have started with Lion.
I'm having the same problem. After moving to Lion I can only get audio. I've tried all the settings. The reason why I am not using Quicktime 7 is because when I export a video I can only get interlaced frames. (those little bars in a video when there is fast movement) I found that exporting with Quicktime X gave me progressive frames rather than interlaced. But now I can only get audio! HELP APPLE!
Here's what I ended up doing after a really frustrating time. I took my large Final Cut doc QT export into iMovie and exported it from there. Still annoying.

Same with me. After moving to Lion I can get only audio from HDV movies.
I'm having the same problem. Just spent multiple thousands of dollars on a new iMac, and I now have to dig out the old computer and turn it on just to use quicktime properly. Fairly annoying. Would be nice if someone at Apple could respond to this post in some form.
I believe that Apple have solved this problem.
I can confirm that after installing "ProApps QuickTime Codecs" I can now export both sound and video from Quicktime X on Lion. I've checked HDV and ProRes 422 (LT).
User Different... are you sure you're using Quicktime X? Not sure how you get to select particular codecs as this option does not appear in QTX. If you use Export then you only have the six presets and Audio Only. And using Share only lets you got to the designated places such as Fb, Yt, etc. If there is a way to select individual codecs then could you show me the way to do this?
I ment that when converting from HDV and ProRess 422 (LT) to H.264 using one of presets from QuickTime X.
I shoud have been more precise but that was initial problem in this thread.
Apologies for misunderstanding what you meant. I had installed the codec update but still having the problem with ProRes formats. I'm using a QT7 workaround in the meantime. I hope it gets fixed soon.
That's strange. I wasn't able to export video as every one above but after installing this codecs I can.
I even don't have FinalCut Pro X (I have Studio 7).
The catch is that you must have FC Pro. It won't install on FCE or iMovie.
Don't bother with Final Cut X. They brought a professional program down to the consumer level and lost many features in the process. I am a videographer and there isn't a company that I have worked with or talked to that is considering upgrading to Final Cut X. Until Apple steps up, brings Final Cut back to the proffesional level, and fixes all these problems with Quicktime, it's going to be very hard for people in this industry to work around these issues.
same stupid problem since a couple of days... audio only... but it workes previously on lion! That is weird in fact, I can't find a reason for this behavior but it's very annoying just like the entire quicktime player x!
I have no idea why I had short period of time in which I could do proper exports and what happened recently but I've again loose possibility to export video from HDV files.
This problem is really annoying.
Quicktime X export formats only exporting audio without video.
