upgrading RAM,MBP 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo can it handle

I have the following MBP and it currently has a two GB RAM and of lately its been running really really slow, I saw this at the activity monitor and it says only 60MB as free memory (is this whats causing the slow down)

How much RAM can my MB handle and any suggestions on which to buy.
