Hope someone can advise
i have an iphone 4 bought from Vodafone Ireland, they have stated on numerous occasions that the phone is unliocked and explained the Iphone backup/restore procedure to me, i foolishly took there workd for it and went ahead and ported over to O2 keeping my mobile number, now i find that my phone is NOT unlocked and so now have no phone, what do i do now?????? HELP

Have you tried restoring your phone from backup, with the O2 sim installed? What happens?
yep i tried it with the O2 sim but that tells me that the sim is invalid, i tried with the old vodafone sim, that kets me do the backup and restore BUT just that, no message telling me it is now an unlocked phone, O2 tell me that my new sim is active (it is as i have tried it in another phone) so i am stuck now
Then Vodafone has not correctly processed your unlock request. You need to contact them. The unlock is performed through iTunes, but Vodafone is responsible for correctly processing the request, which obviously they have not done, regardless of what they are telling you.
yep done that too but they again said all done and i need to talk to apple, meanwhile i am left without a phone!
You can try calling Apple customer relations, but I'll bet money Vodafone has entered the wrong IMEI number when requesting your phone be unlocked.
