Mission Control is slow!

I have the same problem here.

I did a clean install and only after about a week (not before) have a huge amount of lag with Mission Controll. It is very reproducible when I initiate mission control and move a window around. I'd really like to know what triggered the issue.

Note that I have an Early 2008 MPB.

Any resolutions?

Mine is slower than slow. The lag is unbelievable! everything is so slow. I have a new macbook pro that I did a clean install of Lion, I repaired and verified disk permissions, still slower than ever. I hope that a update will help this issue soon! Has anyone found a fix yet?

This started for me after the upgrade to 10.7.1

Cleared up after a restart. I have 8GB or RAM.... plenty to handle this.

This worked for me:

Download and install OnyX for Lion. Run it to delete the system caches and user caches. Also move all the cache files in /Library/Caches to the trash.

OnyX will have you restart after cache deleting is done.

After doing this I noticed a huge improvment in Mission Control performance.

I'm having Mission Control performance issues with my 2011 13" Macbook Air as well. Sometimes it's smooth but if I have three or more apps open it gets choppy.

This problem must surely be one of the most disapointing aspects of my upgrade to Lion.

I've gone from the super slick animations built into spaces and Expose to the slow and jerky Mission Control.

It's better in some ways but it's annoying that a 1 year old 4 Core machine seems to be struggling with this, something doesn't seem right.

Also I find is difficult to see which work space is selected since the border is really narrow. I have dual monitors and end up with a wasted display if using full screen apps.

It's ilogical to have full screen apps show up as spaces, there should be some seraration here since I quite often seem to end up with a few apps left running in full screen ( notably preview) which get in the way.

Why do some hot corners work on both screens and some only on the outside ?

I have this problem too, suddenly one day it started lagging and has been like that ever since. Even my launchpad is a little laggy (when opening folders). I tried almost anything but reinstalling/reformating, nothing helped. Let's hope the 10.7.2 update fixes this.

I am having this problem too. its so slow that its unuseable. I have to go in to mission control open a desktop swith to that desktop and then open any apps i need to the system slow right down.

i can confim that deleting the files from /library/caches massively speeds up the performance!

I installed onyx and deleted all caches.

I opened every program which I opened yesterday than I switched mission control with slow motion (Shift + Cntrl + Up key) than everything is ok now.

I think some program left a corrupiton in system (cos default setting "open last closed window when program starts again" is making something I think) and When I opened all my program back corruption gone...

Worth to try. Better than "Format / reinstall lion"

btw: I already downloaded all updates and was ready to format HDD. That is luck I think.

in another post,mashingnick" tell us that erasing cache with Onyx fixed the buggy mission control, well, this help me also with Quicklook!!!!

now, my Lion in a macbook pro 2007 is faster than Snow Leopard (or almost as fast 😉
