Q: ANGRY BIRDS UPDATE FROM ****

I have an app on the mac app Store that is not associated with my email or have not installed this app in my laptop?    My mac app store says there is an update for angry birds but when I click on it it says that I my email is not associated with the account.    asdfff2011@mail.ru

Screen Shot 2011-08-03 at 7.13.38 PM.pngScreen Shot 2011-08-03 at 7.14.07 PM.png

I dpn't know where that app came from in my labtop since What i have is the free versions of angry birds on my iphone ....  it seems it has gotten screwup!!!!!

I email apple supprt and they instructed me this:

"Open Finder. >Open the Applications menu on the left hand side.

Under the Applications menu scroll down and open Utilities.

Click on Terminal.

Enter this code in Terminal: mdfind kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt =1

Once the command has been run, go to your Application folder then delete the apps on the list in Terminal.

Please empty the Trash, then relaunch the Mac App Store"

Did it as advised ….But the funny part is that Angry Birds was not on the list…..  doing a search on the spotlight, I found an Item (Angry Birds 1.4.0.ipa) but that is not a mac application but an Iphone ap….    Very strange>>>>>>>>>>

My question is :   Isn’t there a directory of receipts where this updates are stored?  How do I get angry birds update from my account?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), 2011

So you are claiming that the FCPX trial had the receipt from the Russian Apple ID that the OP states is appearing in his Mac App Store on his Mac? Impossible, I have used the trial and no such receipt exists in it. So your are here mouthing off in ignorance. I was responding specifically to the OP and the issue that he described. It is an well established fact that this Russian Apple ID only appears in a pirated app. The pirate himself has posted here in the Apple Support Communities and confessed what he did.

Actually Dave, that's exactly what happened on my Mac.  Unless you were sitting over my shoulder though, you wouldn't believe me no matter what I tell you.  I, too, was responding to the OP and the issue described.  In fact, the Genius at the App Store pointed me to this post for that exact problem.  But you probably know better.

It is a total lie. Actually two lies. Lie number one is that you were not responding to the OP, you responded directly to me and you addressed nothing in the OP's comment in your comment. Number two, there is not a Russian app pirate's MAS receipt in the trial version of Apple's FCPX. If an admitted Russian app pirate's Apple ID appeared on your Mac it is because you had one of his pirated apps on your Mac.

    Greetings Matthew,

My name is Bradford with iTunes/Mac App Store Customer Service and I will be happy to assist you today.  I hope you are having a good day.

Matthew, I believe this article may help to resolve the issue.  It is from Apple Support Communities.  Apple Support Communities are another source of information about iTunes, where everyone from new users to professionals can interact and share their knowledge and experiences. Oh.  Look at that. OP.  And to solve it, I only removed 1 registration from my receipts for the AppStore. It was the FC Trial.  Quite possibly the Receipt was infected, not the App. Which would completely explain why this solution works.  But to you the world may always be flat.

May put a character in my name so I can be as knowledgeable as you?  I feel like I am learning from the Master...

More lies. And here is how we know, FCPX trial version is not a Mac App Store app. It is available from an Apple link from outside the MAS. It does not have a MAS receipt in its app bundle. The trial version from Apple does not appear in Terminal with the mdfind kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt =1 command. There is nothing in the FCPX app bundle that meets the criteria for the Terminal command.

If the Russian app pirate's Apple ID appeared in the Mac App Store on your Mac, then the more likely story is that you had a pirated version of the actual MAS version of FCPX app that was cracked with the Russian pirate's receipt. When you got rid of your pirated app you eliminated the problem.

I am having the same issue on a brand new macbook pro with absolutely no software installed on it yet.  I unboxed it, booted it up, put in my apple ID and surfed the web.  The next day upon booting up the machine I was greeted with an update for angry birds with a strange Russian email tagged to it.  Once again, no software installed, no app store apps, nothing.  Please help!

I had the same thing on mine. I thought it was a kid who had tried to download it wit hhis account. Turned out not to be. This app update being here does NOT mean we have pirated apps. It is a comon error, probably created by a virus or a paradox or even a black hole in space... ^_^

    But seriously,

    1) Open System Preferences > Spotlight

    2) Under the Privacy tab. Add your Macintosh HD (or whatever your main hard disk is called) to the list.

    3) Close the window. Wait a few seconds. Then go back to Spotlight settings and remove the entry you just added.

    4) The spotlight index should now begin to re-index completely. (A dot will fade-in/out inside the Spotlight icon in the taskbar)

    5) Wait for it to finish and then launch the Mac App Store. You should now see no Angry Birds update in your updates folder.

    This worked for me.

This is what it looked like after doing the above steps I mentioned. I used to have the angry birds update. I do not own FCPX or the trial.

Sorry, but if you have a stranger's Apple ID showing up in the MAS on your Mac, you have a pirated app. Period. And if by chance you have caused the MAS to loose track of the pirated app with this reindexing of your Mac, the update will be back. There are no Mac viruses, so please don't spead falsehoods about what is happening here.

    A blackhole?...

    YMMV

No, I am sorry, but I don't have any pirated apps.

There is at least a couple of mac worms/malware. Very rare though.

    ^_^

Oh jeeze, I am so sorry. The update came back like you said, so I did some digging and I actually did find the pirated software FCPX. I'm not the only one who uses this computer. I deleted it and the update immediately vanished! My apologies. Time to talk to my bro...

I believe that currently there is one Trojan horse that can effect Java on the Mac. But know that virii, worms and Trojans are all different things and not synonymous.

Very much true. Had the same problem and Final Cut Pro was the culprit.  I wonder why the trial would be the one that hase been "disguised".
