Lion freezes after HP printer update

I get a freeze in Finder upon restart after updating the HP printer drivers yesterday. I have another Lion partition that I did not install the HP printer drivers and it works Okay.

I hold the power button down to force shutdown.

If I restart holding the "S" key then all works Okay.

What gives?
