Pandora terminates after a couple hours...why

Pandora runs fine for about 2 hours. Shortly there after it turns off. Doesn't matter if I've interacted with Pandora shortly before it terminates or not. Anyone know if Pandora application is terminating itself or is iPad terminating program? Any fixes? Thank you

iPad, iOS 4, Pandora Internet radio

I use Pandora - the free version - on occasion but rarely play it for longer than a hour so this is just a "you can try this" kind of thing.

Try quitting Pandora and then restart the iPad. If you don't restart the iPad routinely, maybe that can help. Not saying that it will work, but it can't hurt to try. This is a generic "close apps" response. You can close Pandora only or close as many or all of your apps if you want to give this a try.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Since the program terminates on a regular basis, I'm more inclined to believe that there is some sort of timer that shuts down the program after a certain amount of time. I will try to pay more attention to how's long it takes for it to shut down. Other piece of information...no other programs are running in background. After I've noticed Pandora is no longer running, I'll turn on the screen and its back at the homepage. Pandora is not listed in the background applications(double tapping the home button). It looks like nothing was ever running. This is not a serious issue, but it is a pain when you have the radio on in the background and it's constantly turning off.

This means that the Pandora is quitting/crashing/closing as evidenced by the fact that when you wake the iPad it has returned to the home screen. If the app merely stops, when you wake the iPad, the app should still be open. At least that's what I think is going on.

I didn't even know what Pandora One was until I did a little quick research on this site. I see nothing about any time limit other than if you have free Pandora like I do. If you paid the $36.00 annual fee, threshold be no timer involved - if I read correctly.

I entered "is there a time limit" in the search area to find the information on this FAQ site.

If in fact the app is closing, I would try deleting it and reinstalling it. The app is free, the subscription service is what you pay for unlimited hours - correct?

After reading the Pandora FAQ that "Demo" directed me to, I found the reason why it closes. Pandora wants to make sure that they're not paying royalties for songs you're not listening to. If you don't consistently give a thumbs up or down a message pops up asking if you're still listening. If you don't respond Pandora turns off. This is a bummer for me because I don't want to be tied to my computer. I like to put the music on and do stuff around the house. I'm going to let Pandora know of my issue with this, if it bothers you as well, please let them know so we can get this changed. Demo thanks for the help
