I have converted some movies to mov files and renamed them in windows explorer. When I import them into iTunes, it retains an old name (like movie 1_5 or some other useless title). When I try to rename in iTunes library, it just keeps reverting back to the old name. How can I fix this to match the name I gave it in Windows Explorer?
This only seems to be happening with my movies and not my songs.
Are you saying iTunes is change the acuall file name? Or just that you do not see the new file name displayed in iTunes? The name iTunes displays has nothing to do with the file name it is stored in the song/videos meta data. Right click on song/video and select get into. Then make what ever changes you want.
When I right click and choose get info, I can make the changes but as soon as I try to get iTunes to accept the changes, it continues to revert back to the old file. This only happens to my movie (.mov) files and not my music (.mp3) files.
Ok I am still not getting a clear answer. Are you try to change the file name or the name displayed in iTunes? Are the music and video files in the same folder?
The video and audio files are in the same folder (library) within iTunes. On the hard drive, they are located in different folders, though. I am trying to change the name displayed in iTunes.
