I am attempting to migrate from an old iMac G4 (PowerPC) running Tiger (10.4.11) to a new PowerBook running Lion. The Migration assistants do not recognize each other.
I've updated the Migration Assistant on the G4 but that did not change anything.
Suggestions welcome.
Having the same problem, with a Power PC G5 iMac running 10.4.11, trying to migrate to a new iMac running Lion. (Can't update the old iMac to Leopard or Snow Leopard, because it doesn't have an Intel chip.)

Fantastic -- thank you! I connected the two computers via ethernet per that thread and the Apple help site and I think I've made it work.
